The winter storm expected to hit eastern North Carolina this weekend could bring another round of snow to parts of Beaufort County, but it isn’t expected to present the significant ice threat that accompanied last weekend’s storm.
The National Weather Service expects that the most significant impacts of the storm will happen after the Friday evening commute.
Rain chances in Beaufort County will increase after 1 p.m. Friday, and rain will be likely after 7 p.m. A transition to snow is expected to begin after 10 p.m. for most areas of the county, and continue through noon Saturday.
The snow accumulation forecast varies around the county, with a dusting possible in southeastern areas (Blounts Creek, Edward, Aurora) to between 2 and 3 inches in the northwest (Washington, Old Ford, Pinetown).
