Pam Pack, Seahawk swimmers compete Friday

Washington and Southside High School will be well-represented in Friday’s 1A/2A East Regional swim meet at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary.
Pam Pack junior John Hinchey qualified in five events, while senior Jackson Wilder will compete in four.
Both will be part of the sixth-seeded 200 and seventh-seeded 400 freestyle relay teams with Austin Waters and Victor Hill and the seventh-seeded 200 medley relay with Waters and Connor Lewis.
Wilder is also seeded 22nd in the 50 freestyle while Hinchey is eighth in the 100 breaststroke and the 100 freestyle.
Lewis is slotted 11th in the 200 individual medley and Hill is 14th in the backstroke.
For Southside, senior Campbell Barnes is seeded fifth in the 50 freestyle and 12th in the 100 breaststroke.
Sophomore Ty Cole is fifth in the 200 freestyle.
On the girls side, WHS senior Aspen Sommers is seeded 18th in the 100 breaststroke, part of the 200 freestyle relay (14th) and the 200 medley relay (16th) with Elena Hill, Abby Lewis and Sydney Smithwick and joins Lewis, Smithwick and Anna Shadle on the 12th seeded 400 freestyle relay.
Lewis is slotted ninth in the 200 individual medley and Hill qualified 22nd in the 100 backstroke.
Southside junior Delta Cole qualified third in the 50 freestyle and eighth in the 100 freestyle.
