David Christopher Ballance

David Christopher Ballance, 73, of Tent Woods, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David M. and Louise Ballance.

Chris is survived by his son, David J. Ballance (Stephanie) of Raleigh, NC, daughter, Paige Ballance Consani (Jason) of Topsail Beach, NC, grandchildren, David Liam Ballance, Spencer J. Consani, Cristiano L. Consani, very close friend, Donna Young, and numerous cousins and extended family.

He was raised in the First Christian Church of Belhaven, where he also served as youth minister for some time.  During his high school years, Chris was an athlete at John A. Wilkinson High School.  He later attended College of the Albemarle-Elizabeth City.  From there Chris served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army.  He was a Vietnam veteran who served two years “in country.” He later spent 46 years at Weyerhaeuser in many different roles.  He served as the union safety officer, union Vice President, and union President.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at Cotten Funeral Home.
