The Washington Noon Rotary Club, is proud to present Rotary Club Scholarships for 2022 to the following three college bound Beaufort County high school seniors: Jackeline Campos (second from left) and Jessica Mendoza from Beaufort County Early College High School and Mr. Ridge Zerniak from Washington High School. Youth Services Co-chairs Bob Douglas (far left) and Tom McCluskey (second from right) are also pictured.
Each will receive a $1,500 stipend in the amount of $1,500 payable directly to college once classes begin. Campos and Zerniak will attend N.C. State University, while Mendoza plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill.
The purpose of the scholarship is to help defray expenses for the first year of higher education and enable the recipients to devote more time to academics. The three were honored at the Noon Rotary meeting May 23. In coordination with the Washington Evening and Sunrise Rotary Clubs, Noon Rotary is proud to have annually given scholarships to deserving Beaufort County students for many years. The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service generally, and higher education in particular.
The Washington Noon Rotary Club meets weekly for fellowship, lunch and an informative and interesting presentations from a guest speaker. Join us Mondays at King Chicken, Carolina Avenue, Washington at 12:00 sharp.
