Mrs. Nina Odell Cayton Woolard, age 87, a resident of Slatestone Road, Washington, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at River Trace Nursing Home in Washington.
A graveside service was held 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Woolard Family Cemetery on Slatestone Road, conducted by Tim Stamper.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on February 26, 1935. She was the daughter of the Willie Grey Cayton and Ethel Mae Smith Cayton. Mrs. Woolard was a homemaker, helped on the family farm, and later worked at Bonney Products. She was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ and past Sunday School teacher. In her spare time, Mrs. Woolard loved working outside in her yard, and she was a very talented seamstress, spending many hours sewing for family and friends.
On August 28, 1952, she married Floyd Holton Woolard, who preceded her in death, April 14, 2000.
Mrs. Woolard is survived by three sons, David Glenn Woolard and wife, Donna of Tarboro, Michael L. Woolard and wife, Twilla of Washington, Jeffrey P. Woolard and wife, Sherry of Washington; three brothers, Talmadge Cayton, Gerald Cayton, Don Cayton; five grandchildren, Brandon, Brent, Blake, Kyle, and Jordan Leigh Woolard; eight great grandchildren and close friend, Gracie Kite.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Woolard was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillie Mae Roscoe, and Doris Walls.
The family received friends following the service at the graveside.
