Washington Noon Rotary Club President Dr. David Loope welcomed guest speaker Jan Hindsley to the club’s Monday, August 15th luncheon meeting. Ms. Hindsley informed the club about the history of the Pamlico River Quilters’ Guild, a local organization founded in 1981 that’s committed to promoting the craft of quilting throughout the community. Ms. Hindsley, a very active Noon Rotarian, said the PRQG has hosted a wide variety of public showings and has donated over 1,000 quilts, dolls, and pillow cases to support public causes and local organizations over the past forty years. This coming Monday the club will reconvene from 12-1 p.m. for its weekly luncheon at the King Chicken Banquet Hall and guests are welcome.
