Worth Tew, Jr., 73, of Roper, died Friday, August 19, 2022, at ECU Health Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 7, 1948 in Wake County he was the son of the late Worth Tew and Beatrice Stephenson Dobbs and was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Hobby Marrow Tew; daughter, Susan Barnes; sons, Michael Tew and Brian Tew and sister, Peggy Johnson. Worth retired from the Coca Cola Company of Raleigh and currently worked for Shavender Trucking Company as Director of Operations. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he helped everyone he could.
His family includes sisters, Kaye Dixon and husband Robert of Selma, NC and Joy Cox and husband Rick of Angier, NC; in-laws, Marya Shavender and husband Buddy of Pantego, NC, Cecilia Marrow Whichard and husband Bobby of Chocowinity, NC, Virginia Marrow Coats and husband Ken of Emerald Isle, NC and Mack Wesley Marrow and wife Glenda of Roper, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Karen Pruette officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 12:30 to1:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral home and other times at the residence.
