Mr. Charles Ricky Motteler, age 74, a resident of Washington, died Friday, September 16, 2022. 

No services will be held.

Mr. Motteler was born in Washington on February 2, 1948. He was the son of the late Charles Gilbert Motteler and Elsie Gray Smith Motteler. Mr. Motteler was a structural engineer. He was the owner of Motteler Construction specializing in steel buildings.

Surviving are his three sons, Charles Jason Motteler (Kristen) of Charlotte, Austin Taylor Motteler (Carla) of Chapel Hill, and Matthew Bynum Motteler (Leslie) of Denver, NC; and his siblings Larry Gene Motteler (Elizabeth) of Blounts Creek, Gary Lee Motteler (Brenda), Michael Ray Motteler (Debrina), and Elaine Motteler Edwards (Al) all of Washington, NC. He is also survived by his six grandchildren.
