Linda (Susie) Meeks Merritt, age 72, a resident of Belhaven NC, died Saturday, October 1, 2022, at home.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Trinity Methodist Church at Belhaven, North Carolina and will be officiated by Chris Noble. A luncheon will be held prior to the service at 11:30 am.

Susie was the former finance officer for Hyde County School system, she was a graduate from Barton College, Wilson, NC.

Susie was survived by her husband, James Merritt, stepdaughter, Sharalyn Rasmussen, Bryce Justin Merritt, step grandchildren, Hailey Reed, Morgan Reed and Conner Reed, sister, Mary Alice Mckenzie, daughter in law, Joyce Meeks.

Susie is preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Meeks and Joseph Meeks

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the ALS clinic at Duke University, Durham NC, 932 Morreene Road, Durham, NC 27705.
