Mrs. Joyce Sheppard Jackson, age 91, a resident of Washington, died Monday, October 10, 2022, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2022, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington, conducted by Dr. Joseph “Danny” Robertson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Bath, on October 8, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Tilton Roosevelt Sheppard and Julia Thomas Jefferson Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker who volunteered at Beaufort County Hospital, and loved to read. She was a member of First Christian Church.

She married Dallas Henry Jackson, Sr. who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughter, Dana Jill Jackson Oliver and husband Dwight of Arapahoe; son Dallas H. “Jay” Jackson and wife Sandra of Kinston; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Sheppard of Bath, Jack Sheppard of Plymouth, Lee Sheppard of IL; two sisters, Becky Waters of Bath, and Shirley Oliver of PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Webster; one great grandchild Nicolas DeLuna; and two siblings,
