William “Bill” M. Swindell, age 83, a resident of Washington, NC, died early Monday morning, November 28th, 2022, in his home surrounded by loved ones and caretakers.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 1st, 2022, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by John Edwards.
Bill Swindell was a proud American and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the 1960’s. Continuing his tradition of service and dedication to the people of his country and North Carolina, Bill honorably retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol as a Master Trooper with 27 years of service in 1993.
Bill is survived by his wife Phyllis Swindell, daughter Lisa Woodward, grandchildren Riggins and Cooper Woodward and great grandchild Autumn Woodward. Also, Bill has surviving siblings of Clyde Swindell, Herbert Swindell and Marie Swindell.
He loved life and the joys it brought. You would often see him talking to family and friends about “a good deal” he found on a coin or diamond with a smile on his face.
Visitation will be following the celebration of life ceremony which is located at 900 John Small Avenue, Washington, NC 27889.
