BCSO makes arrest at King Chicken

On Dec. 22, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and Patrol Deputies arrested Jaylen Dontrelle Gilmore, 23, of the 800 block of Boston Avenue in Washington. Gilmore was charged with Trafficking in Opium and Resisting a Public Officer.
Gilmore’s arrest stemmed from investigators receiving complaints that Gilmore is involved in the distribution of Oxycodone pills and pills containing Fentanyl. Investigators and Patrol Deputies witnessed Gilmore in the parking lot of King Chicken. Investigators and Patrol Deputies confirmed there was an active arrest warrant on Gilmore for Probation Absconder.
Investigators and Patrol Deputies responded to King Chicken to serve the active arrest warrant on Gilmore. Gilmore fled on foot for a short distance before being apprehended. Gilmore was searched and found to be in possession of 41 Oxycodone pills.
Gilmore was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $75,000.00 secured bond for Trafficking in Opium and Resisting a Public Office. Gilmore received a no bond for Probation Absconder.
