WPD: Pair arrested on drug charges

From Washington Police Department:
On Jan. 18, 2023 officers with the Washington Police Department initiated a traffic stop on vehicle after observing the vehicle being operated in a careless and reckless manner.
As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation probable cause was developed to search the vehicle after the suspect was observed throwing contraband from the vehicle.
A quantity of cocaine and marijuana was located and seized. In addition to the drugs seized, the offenders, both of whom are convicted felons, were found to be in possession of two firearms.
Daquon Green, 24, of Chocowinity, was arrested and charged with PWISD Sch II, Possession of Firearms by a Felon, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Careless and Reckless Driving and Possession of a Fictitious Registration Plate. Green was held on a $70,000 secured bond.
Paul Byrd, 22, of Washington, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. Byrd was held on a $35,000 secured bond.
