Washington, NC — Billy Ray Woolard, age 60, a resident of Washington NC passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, comfortably in his home. Billy Ray was born in Beaufort County, NC on March 18, 1962, the son of the late Redden Louis Woolard and Martha Tyson Woolard.

Billy Ray worked all his life; it is all he knew and what he loved. Billy Ray stayed busy whether he was at his truck shop, on the road doing his axle surgeon business, farming or running a wrecker/transportation service. Billy Ray loved spending time with his family especially if it involved the beach.

He is preceded in death by his brother Redden L. Woolard Jr. He is survived by his wife Margaret Candace Perry, daughter Samantha Furlough and husband Chad Furlough, Jessica Furlough, Grandson Teigan Ray Furlough, granddaughters Grace Ann Furlough and Laci Skye Bitterman, and Brother James Earl Woolard.

An honor and dedication service to his life will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11 am at the Maple Grove Christian Church Sanctuary with a private graveside service to follow. Family will hold a visitation service Friday January 27, 2023, from 6-8pm at the Maple Grove Christian Church Family life Center.
