Northside’s Gavin Sawyer took medalist honors by one shot and led the Panthers to the team title in the Coastal Plains Conference golf match at the Beaufort Club hosted by East Carteret Wednesday.

Swayer posted a five over par 36 to finish ahead of Southside’s Gabe Matthews and golfers from the host school and Lejeune.

The Panthers won the team competition by 12 shots over Lejeune. Southside and East Carteret tied for third while Pamlico County finished fifth.

David Wallace (44), Wyatt Berry (48) and Gus Vansant (54) completed the Northside scoring.

Harrison Phelps (52), Caleb Dixon (54) and Latham Dixon (54) rounded out the Seahawks scoring.
