Southside cruised to an 11 shot victory in Tuesday’s Coastal Plains Conference match at the Washington Yacht & Country Club

Seahawks senior Gabe Matthews fired a three under par 39 from the gold tees to earn medalist honors by six strokes over golfers from East Carteret and Pamlico County.

Harrison Phelps (47), Latham Dixon (48) and Caleb Dixon (54) completed Southside’s team total of 188.

Pamlico County finished second at 199, followed by Lejeune (203) Northside (204) and East Carteret (210)

Wyatt Berry was Northside’s top scorer at 49, followed by Claire Holmes (51)

Gavin Sawyer (51) and David Wallace (53)

Washington won its Eastern Plains Conference match by five shots over Farmville Central. Rob Bergevin (77) and Marshall Asby (81) were the Pack’s top scorers.
