On Wednesday, March 15, a 14-year-old juvenile was found by Washington Police Department officers with a gunshot wound to their shoulder. Officers responded to a call in the area of N. Market Street and W. Ninth Street at approximately 4:21 p.m.

According to Chief of Police, Stacy Drakeford, there is not a threat to the public. He said the police department identified a suspect at the end of last week. The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time. 

He said Washington Police Department appreciates continued assistance from the public on this case.
