The Northside Panthers claimed a two-stroke victory over country rival Southside in Monday’s Coastal Plains Conference golf match at Cypress Landing Golf Club in Chocowinity.

Southside prevailed by 16 shots in last week’s meeting at the Washington Yacht & Country Club and improved their team score by three shots, but the Panthers shaved 19 shots off last week’s score to win 183-185.

Lejeune was third at 187, while East Carteret (190) and Pamlico County (200) were fourth and fifth.

Gavin Sawyer led Northside with a 43 over nine holes, followed by Wyatt Berry (46), Gus Vansant (47) and David Wallace (47).

Caleb Dixon shot 44 to lead Southside, followed by Gabe Matthews (45), Latham Dixon (46) and Harrison Phelps (50).

Lejeune’s Breenan Shea took medalist honors with a 38.
