The Northside golf team won a pair of dual matches at the Washington Yacht & Country Club this week despite not winning the individual title each time.

The Panthers outshot county rival Southside, 355-401 Wednesday. Seahawk senior Gabe Matthews paced the field with an 80, but Northside’s overall depth prevailed for the team win. Matthews shot 39 on the front nine and 41 on the back.

Gavin Sawyer led Northside with an 82, followed by David Wallace (86), Wyatt Berry (93) and Cole Tomaini (94).

Caleb Dixon (94), Harrison Phelps (103) and Jose Ramos (124) completed the Seahawks team total.

Mattamuskeet’s Noah Stewart shot an 82 a day later to win medalist honors, but the Panthers prevailed, 366-414.

Sawyer, Wallace and Berry all shot 90, while Bryce Evans rounded out the team total with a 96.
