Michael Anthony Lannon, 60, died Thursday, April 13, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Lannon, III and Joyce Duncan Lannon of South Creek.

Mike was a loving husband and brother who is survived by his wife Judi, three brothers Bill, Pat, Tom and sister Linda and their families.

Mike was an avid sportsman who loved the ocean and rivers of Eastern North Carolina and his native Virginia. He co-owned a very successful paving company for many years and worked for PCS Phosphate once he moved to Aurora to care for his mother. Most recently he had enjoyed working in home improvement with his friends at Hiatt Home Repair. Mike’s friends and loved ones will remember him as a music lover who played the guitar and traveled to see over 30 Grateful Dead shows across the US. It has often been said that Mike never knew a stranger and would literally give the coat off his back if it was needed.

A memorial and celebration of his life is being planned to take place later this year. His wife and family would like to thank all his caregivers and the staff of the Marion L.
