On May 2, 2023, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Uriah Chavez Keyes, 32 years of age, of Washington, NC. Keyes was charged with one count of Possession with intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine and one count of Possession of cocaine.

Keyes arrest stemmed from Investigators in the Drug Unit conducting a controlled purchase of cocaine from Keyes. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant on Keyes stemming from the controlled purchase. Investigators served the arrest warrant and as a result conducted a search of Keyes and his vehicle and located a quantity of cocaine.

Keyes was out on bond stemming from previous drug charges at the time of his arrest. Keyes was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond.
