Harding, Stilley finish fifth at state track meet

Sophomore Andrew Harding led Northside with a pair of fifth place finishes while senior Elgin Stilley placed fifth for Southside at the 1A state track meet at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro.
Harding finished the 1600 meters in 4:34.45 and the 3200 in 10:16.10, posting faster times in both than in last weekend’s East Regional. He was also part of the 4x 800 relay team with Mason Newman, Jack DeHoog and Tucker Proctor that finished 14th.
The 4x 200 relay team of Curtis Toodle, Chase Tomani, Jayvian O’Neal and Faithful Fulcher finished 12th in 1:37.06
Senior Zane Brooks was 15th in the 110 hurdles in 17.13.
Stilley led the Southside boys with a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 46’00, almost two feet better than his regional toss.
Senior Manvonte Deloach was eighth in the high jump (6’), while the 4x 800 relay team of Jacob Taylor, Nolan Dixon, William Stonebraker and Kenny Avila were 15th.
On the girls side, sophomore I’Kiriyah Minor led Southside with a seventh place finish in the triple jump (31’-06) and the 4x 800 relay team of Lelia Jones, Janyah Moore, Savannah Phelps and Emma Smith were 15th.
Northside junior Kiele Scott was 14th in the 1600 (6:13.82) and was part of the 12th place 4x 800 relay with Emma Boyd, Ava Hedgepeth and Bailey Singleton
