Mr. Leonard Earl Buck, age 76, a resident of Washington, died Sunday, June 25, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Snowd Branch Church of God, 3283 VOA Road, Washington, conducted by Pastor Kevin Whaley and Pastor Jack Holloman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Alan Buck, Ronnie Buck, Michael Ray Ormond, Evan Buck, Jason Cox, Caleb Card, Cameron Card, and Alfred Everington. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Dixon and Presley Eley.
Mr. Buck was born in Lenoir County on September 25, 1946. He was the son of the late Roman Allen Buck and Reber Reel Buck. Mr. Buck served in the U.S. Army Reserves. While having many talents he was best known in the community for barbering for over 30 years. In his spare time, Mr. Buck enjoyed gardening, piddling in his shop, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Buck was a member of Snowd Branch Church of God and served as Clerk for over 30 years. He was a member of the Gideons and the Barbers Association.
Mr. Buck was married to the former Ellen Roberson, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Michelle Barringer and husband, Ron of Wake Forest, Jennifer Buck of Washington: three grandchildren, Savannah Davenport, Braxton Davenport, and Aurora Barringer, one brother, John Ray Buck and wife, Sarah of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Buck was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Buck and Harriel Buck.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Snowd Branch Church of God and other times at the home.
