Mrs. Jean Worrall O’Neal, age 93, a resident of Washington, NC died on July 14, 2023, at her home.

A private burial will take place later at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath.

Mrs. O’Neal was born in Kanawha County, WV, daughter of the late Wallace Wester Worrall and the late Jenny Frye Worrall.  She was a graduate of Bath High School.   Mrs. O’Neal was married to John Thomas O’Neal who preceded her in death.  She drove the Beaufort/Hyde/Martin Bookmobile and on Mondays and Thursdays she could be found playing Bridge with her wonderful friends.  Other pastimes that Mrs. O’Neal loved were oil painting, reading, and arts & crafts.  She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her sons: Barry W. O’Neal of Ridgecrest, CA, Matthew W. O’Neal and his wife Shirley of Pinetown, and; a sister: Joan Seifred of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; grandchildren: Jonathan Samuell (Kristine) of Houston, TX, Jenny Cherry (John) of Aldie, VA, and Matthew T. O’Neal of Washington;  four great grandchildren: Nathan and Natalie Samuell, and Riley and Luke Cherry; nieces and nephew: Lisa, Laura, and Tony Seifred.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. O’Neal was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Babs O’Neal.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
