On July 26, 2023 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Beaufort County Deputies initiated a traffic stop that resulted in Firearm and Narcotics charges. The front seat passenger, Thomas Drake III, B/M, DOB:08/20/1976, 4745 Murry Rd., Winston-Salem N.C. , was found in possession of a Ruger 9-mm handgun, 58 grams of methamphetamine, 1 gram of cocaine, 6 grams of marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Drake was charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana under 1.5oz and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Drake was placed in Beaufort County Detention Center under a $95,000 secured bond for all charges.
