Marie P. Long, age 94, a resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Monday August 14, 2023, at River Trace Nursing & Rehabilitation center in Washington.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday August 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Rev. Ken Hall.  A private burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Henry S. Long, Jr., David Williams, Christopher Williams, Billy Long, Scott Long, and Mike Jones will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Long was born in Beaufort County on February 17, 1929, to the late Herman Pollard and Geneva Toler Pollard. She was a graduate of Aurora High School. On February 4, 1950, she married Henry S. Long who preceded her in death March 31, 1979. She was the Owner and Operator of Blounts Creek Grill and Clothing Store. Mrs. Long enjoyed Painting, drawing, knitting, and babysitting. She was a member of Warren Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann L. Williams of Blounts Creek, her son, Henry S. Long, Jr. and wife Kathy N. Long of Blounts Creek, three grandchildren, David S. Williams of Blounts Creek, Christopher D. Williams and wife Christina B. Williams of Chocowinity, Daniel S. Long of Blounts Creek, and one great granddaughter Nicole Lilley of Chocowinity.

She was also preceded in death by her sister Lela P. Norris.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour Thursday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
