Mr. Roger Perkins “Chip” Gray, III, age 60, a resident of Belhaven, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Trinity Methodist Church in Belhaven, conducted by Rev. Cris Noble. Entombment will be private.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Jacob Forth, Connor Forth, Samuel Lloyd, Mike Bishop, Michael Bishop, and Scott Smith.
Mr. Gray was born in Wake County, N.C. on January 23, 1963. He was the son of Roger Perkins Gray, Jr. and Lyda Bishop Gray. Mr. Gray was a quality assurance associate at Food Lion. He attended Trinity Methodist Church as long as his health permitted. As an animal lover, Mr. Gray loved his cats. He enjoyed being with his family, and friends, driving his red pickup and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Mr. Gray is survived by his parents, Roger and Lyda Gray of Belhaven; sister, Melissa Scarbrough and husband, Michael of Cornelius, N.C.; brother, Steve Gray and wife, Jen of Damascus, MD; nephews, Jacob Forth, Connor Forth; nieces, Hannah Forth, Kylie Gray, Sadie Gray; and many loving, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his grandparents and his beloved uncle, Reginald “Uncle Bud” Bishop.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
