On Oct. 1, 2023 at approximately 4:28 p.m., Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to 75 Asbury Trails Drive, Washington in reference to a possible overdose.

Once on scene, Deputies located the victim in the back yard of the residence.  Before they could reach the victim, he fled on foot into the woods.  Residents from the 4000 block of River Road  reported hearing someone calling for help from the wooded area behind their residence.

Deputies deployed a drone and located the victim in a tree utilizing FLIR which captured the victim’s heat signature.  The victim was evaluated by EMS personnel on scene and did not require transport to the hospital.   The subject was then taken into custody for numerous outstanding orders for arrest from Beaufort and Pitt County and charged with Resist Delay Obstruct.
