Warriors prevail in volleyball tournament

The Unity Christian Academy Warriors battled back through the consolation bracket to win the Middle School Block Party held at UCA. Northeast Academy defeated UCA 25-23, 9-25 and 15-13 in the opening round to advance, while the Warriors faced elimination. Chocowinity Middle won their first two matches against Washington Montessori and Arapaho Charter to set up an Inner Banks Conference showdown with Northeast in the semifinals. The Indians prevailed, 25-21 and 25-18 to move into the championship final.
Unity Christian swept Washington Montessori, Arapahoe Charter and Northeast in two sets to advance to the finals against CMS. The Warriors needed a pair of victories to claim the title and won the first match, 25-17 and 26-24. The championship match went three sets and the Warriors took home the trophy with a 25-23, 23-25, 15-7 victory.
