Charles Lewis (Bobby) Mault, age 89, of China Grove, NC, died Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, after a period of declining health.

A funeral service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, October 28 at Corriher Heights Baptist Church in Landis, with Pastor Jeremy Collins officiating. A private burial will follow. His family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday prior to his funeral.

Bobby was born June 18, 1934, in Rowan Co., a son of the late Robert E. and Irene Waller Mault. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Jr., Ray, Claude, Jim, Ed, his sister, Lib Jordan and most recently his wife of 69 years, Ruby Bradshaw Mault, who passed earlier this year.

Bobby was a graduate of China Grove High School class of 1954 and a member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church in Landis. Bobby worked his entire life serving the public in several local service stations; the last 57 years as co-owner of Mault Brothers Service Station in China Grove. Wanting to show his love for his brothers and others who served in the military, he was a founder of the Price of Freedom Museum. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Cindy M. Stevenson (Robert) of China Grove, his son, Jeff Mault (Pam) of Washington, NC, his grandchildren, Josh Stevenson (Christina) of Sterling, VA, Matt Stevenson (Emily) of Julian, NC, his great-granddaughter, Avery Stevenson, his sister, Betty Kimball, along with many nieces and nephews.
