Senior Night turned into an extended affair this past week as Northside ended its regular home season Thursday, Washington High and Pungo Christian Academy followed on Friday and Southside waited until Monday.
Seniors drove the Panthers, Raiders and Seahawks to victory, so all three receive honors this week.
Northside 55 Lejeune 0: Jamie Corprew ran for 194 yards on 15 carries and scored four touchdowns as the Panthers blasted the Devil Pups for their fifth straight victory. He scored on runs of 10, 11 eight and 12 yards as Northside ran for 337 yards.
Max Vansant added 70 yards on three carries, while Sincere Columbus had 43 and a pair of touchdowns. Zanek McCloud scored from 11 yards out.
T.J. Squires led the defense with a pair of interceptions, while Malachi Moore, Gus Vansant and Jack DeHoog picked off Lejeune passes. Holden Boykin had a team-high six tackles and Dashawn Smith added a sack.
Southside 40 East Carteret 7: Tequon (Tater) Moore made the most of potentially his last home game with 150 yards rushing on 13 carries with two touchdowns and a 16-yard scoring reception as the Seahawks won their third straight. Moore also recovered a Mariner fumble that set up his 30-yard scoring run in the first quarter. His touchdown catch came as time expired in the first half to give Southside a 32-7 lead at the break.
Myquan Clark ran nine times for 55 yards and a touchdown and caught a 32-yard pass from Luke Bullock as Southside rolled up 356 total yards.
Bullock was 3-4 for 59 yards and the two scoring passes.
Freshman Ryan Lewis had a team-best six tackles, while Daylan Hardy had a 54-yard interception return.
Pungo Christian Academy 53 Bethel Academy 6: Quay Artis exploded for 299 total yards and five touchdowns in the Raiders 8-man season-ending victory. Artis ran for 237 yards and scored four times, then caught two passes for 72 more, including a 62-yard scoring pass.
Braden Armstrong had a 42-yard scoring run, while McKinney Waters led the defense with 11 tackles.
Parker Byrd added 10 tackles and scored on a 52-yard punt return as the Raiders finished 5-3.
Southwest Edgecombe 47 Washington 10: Josh Gordon led the Pack with 103 yards on 23 carries in what was likely his last home game.
Cameron Whitley was 10-23 passing for 102 yards. Hunter Baldree caught four passes, while Gary Payne had three for 67 yards.
Traequan Haywood had 12 tackles, Jamel Corey intercepted a pass and Jahqueol Blackledge recovered a fumble.
