Emergency personnel respond to fatal structure fire in Blounts Creek

On Sunday, Nov. 5 at approximately 4:45 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a reported structure fire at 362 Weston Drive in Blounts Creek, according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Arriving responders reported a single-wide mobile home “fully consumed by fire,” per a press release from the sheriff’s office. “Fire personnel located one deceased occupant in the debris.”
A cause has not been determined at this time. The name of the victim is being withheld until family notifications are complete. Updates on the investigation are expected.
Responding emergency personnel included Chocowinity and Aurora Fire Departments, Beaufort County Emergency Services and Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is leading an investigation on the structure fire with assistance from Beaufort County’s Office of Emergency Services, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and North Carolina’s Office of State Fire Marshall.
