NC Wildlife investigating fatal boat crash near Dinah’s Landing

On Sunday, Nov. 5 at approximately 2:23 a.m., several emergency response organizations responded to a call for assistance to locate an overdue boater in Bath. Personnel quickly located a single, crashed vessel in a wooded shoreline near Dinah’s Landing. Both occupants where found deceased at the scene, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The victims’ names are being withheld until family notifications have been completed.

North Carolina Wildlife is investigating the accident with assistance from Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Updates are to be expected.

Those who responded to the crash Sunday morning were members of Beaufort County’s Water Response Team: Bath, Bunyan, Chocowinity and Washington Fire Departments as well as Pinetown Rescue & EMS, North Carolina Wildlife, North Carolina Marine Fisheries, U.S. Coast Guard, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Beaufort County’s Office of Emergency Services.
