Washington High School was well represented on the All Eastern Plains Conference boys soccer team, as five Pam Pack players earned recognition.
Juniors Lane Brown and Edgar Quevado along with sophomores David Barrera, Tucker Colville and Will Glover were chosen in a vote by the league coaches.
The Pack finished second in the EPC with a 10-2 record, went 15-6 overall and made it to the second round of the 2A state playoffs.
“All five guys were a huge part of our success and they are coming back next year,” coach Jim Kozuch said. Lane, David and Tucker were part of a defense that allowed only three goals in conference games. We used David to mark the other teams’ best scorer and he did a great job. Lane was hard-nosed and consistent every game and Tucker played everywhere and improved a lot during the season.”
Glover and Quevado led an offense that produced 101 goals or just under five per game. Glover led the Pack with 23 goals while Quevado added 20.
“Edgar started out on defense, but we moved him up whenever we needed more scoring,” Kozuch said. “He obviously performed well on offense for us and Will was our striker most of the time. He (Glover) stepped up his game and worked extremely hard. He brought excitement and energy to our team and was a consistent attacker for us. I look forward to having all five of them back next fall.”
