On November 01, 2023, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office along with the Greenville Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 598 Ellis Cove Rd. Belhaven, NC and arrested David Anthony Scelsi on multiple drug charges.

While examining digital evidence recovered from the search warrant, Deputies learned that David Anthony Scelsi had a hidden compartment located in a staircase at his home.  A second search warrant was obtained and Deputies found and searched the hidden compartment.  Approximately 157 grams of methamphetamine and $1,300 were discovered inside the staircase along with digital scales and drug packaging materials.

David Anthony Scelsi was still confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond.  Deputies served Scelsi with another count of Trafficking in Methamphetamine based upon the items located.  This investigation is still ongoing.
