Peggy Lee Wallace, age 90, a resident of Washington, NC, died Friday December 22, 2023 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday December 27, 2023 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Marty Alligood and Mike Caton. Burial will follow at the Wallace Family Cemetery on Terrapin Track Road. Pallbearers include Blake Woolard, Kyle Woolard, Eddie Haywood, III, Mark Erdesky, Justin Winstead, and Richard Ricks.

Mrs. Wallace was born on November 15, 1933 to the late Ellis Argo Lee and Annie Wallace Lee. She attended Pinetown Elementary School and Bath High School. On September 29, 1951 she married Charlie Frank “C.F.” Wallace, Jr. who preceded her in death December 5, 2005. She was a hard worker, she worked at National Spinning, Flanders Filters, and in later years was a caregiver. Mrs. Wallace was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, and cooking for her family while her health permitted.

Survivors include her two daughters, Deborah W. Haywood of Mebane, Twilla W. Woolard and husband Michael of Washington, a son, Charlie Frank Wallace, III and wife Renee of Washington, six grandchildren, Kerry Erdesky, Eddie “Bubba” Haywood, III, Blake Woolard, Kyle Woolard, Andrew Ballance, Ashley Winstead, twelve great grandchildren, Edie Grace Haywood, Zach Erdesky, Cole Erdesky, Noah Woolard, Camryn Woolard, Alyssa Winstead, Aubrey Winstead, McKinley Ballance, Madison Ballance, Daniel Nobles, Brendan Kinnion, Courtney Bennett, and her caregiver and special friend, Kim Harvey.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wallace is preceded in death by two sisters Doris Kortes, Ola “Sissy” Ricks, and a son-in-law, Eddie Haywood, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday December 27, 2023 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the homes of her son, Charlie Wallace, III, and her daughter Twilla Woolard.
