Rec basketball tips off: The Washington Youth Basketball League started its season Saturday with well over 200 area kids participating according to league administrator John Lampkins.
Divisions range from 8U to 13-16 for the boys and 10U and 14U for the girls, with three to six teams in each age group. Darrius Drills (pictured) was one of several players in the 11/12 age group waiting to go through the pre-game layup line Saturday. Games and practices are held throughout the week at the Bobby Andrews Rec Center in Washington. (submitted)
