The Northside golf team opened the spring season with a decisive victory at the Washington Country Club earlier this week.

The Panthers shot a four-player 18-hole total of 361, nine shots ahead of second place East Carteret.

Lejeune finished third and Southside was fourth in the Coastal Plains Conference match.

Northside’s Gavin Sawyer led the team with an 84, good for third overall behind a pair of East Carteret golfers. Wyatt Berry (89), Cooper Evans (91) and Claire Holmes (97) completed the team total.

Latham Dixon led Southside with a 97. Avery Dixon (103), Alex Silva (113) and Alex Crisp (120) also competed for the Seahawks.
