Junior guard Breanna Perry represented Washington on the girls Eastern Plains All-Conference team in a vote of the league’s coaches.
Perry helped the Pam Pack break a 23-game losing streak and earn their first league victory in 20 contests by averaging 23 points a game.
“She brought a serious outlook to every practice and that’s something our team was sorely lacking,” coach Stevie Green. “She helped her teammates focus better during practice and that helped us be more competitive in games. She was our main scoring threat and worked very hard to improve.”
Perry scored over half the Pack’s points for the season and had 22 in the win over Pasquotank and 28 of the 50 against Ayden-Grifton. Her best scoring game came in a 62-54 home loss to East Carteret in which she hit five three-pointers on the way to 37 for the game.
“She was our go-to shooter, but she always tried to get her teammates involved,” Green said. “She learned to communicate better on the court and improved her defense as the season went on. She led in a positive way and also tried to set an upbeat mood for us.”
