In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 16, multiple rounds were fired at a Chocowinity residence on Summerlin Lane, off Hwy 17 S, according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Beaufort County Crime Stoppers. Deputies responded to the incident.

The residence was occupied by a mother and her child; neither were injured despite it sustaining heavy damage, the sheriff’s office shared.

The suspects fled before deputies arrived.
