Pirates of all ages will roam the streets of Bath this weekend at Bath Fest. The 16th annual festival celebrates The Town of Bath’s mark in North Carolina as the state’s first port, established in 1705. The festival will take place in downtown Bath from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Experience history come alive as The Loose Cannon Company returns to teach festival attendees about the Golden Age of Piracy. Through interactive living history experiences, attendees can learn about seamanship, period cooking, surgical procedures, medicine, weapons, and tactics. Cannon and fireflock firing demonstrations are included. The Loose Cannon Company and demonstrations will be located at Bonner’s Point.

On the 200 block of Main Street and Front Street, craft vendors will have their unique creations for purchase. Civic groups and food trucks will have a delicious fare for attendees to choose from.

Children’s activities will be located in the back yard of the Bonner House. The Beaufort County 4H Chicken and Rabbit Show will take place behind the Carrow House.

Entertainment will take place all day at the Bonner House starting with the Beaufort County Traditional Music Association at 10 a.m. followed by Carolina Still, an hour later. At 12 p.m., the Emerald City Big Band will performed. They will be followed by an art show award for Bath Elementary School students. Finally, Double Portion of Southern Gospel Music will close out the afternoon and festival.

Tickets are not required to attend.
