Athletes from Washington, Northside and Southside will compete in the state track meet Friday and Saturday at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro.

Washington sophomore Janiyah Little finished second in the 100 meter hurdles in 15.78 seconds and took third in the 300 hurdles in 48.32 in the 2A East Regional at Kinston HS.

Senior AJ Privott was second in the discus with a toss of 140-1. They will compete in Friday’s 2A meet.

Junior Andrew Harding will represent Northside in three events after winning the 1600 (4:30.32) and 3200 (10:32.87) meters and finishing second as part of the 4x 800 relay team with Tucker Proctor, Jack DeHoog and Avery Roberson in 11:44.03 at the 1A East regional at Wilson Prep HS.

Freshman Colten Smith won the 400 meter dash in 51.75 seconds, while senior Faithful Fulcher was third in the 200 in 23.20.

The top four finishers in each event qualify for the state meet.

Senior Kiele Scott led the girls with a second place finish in the 800 meters (2:42.92), the 3200 (13:51) and a third place finish in the 1600 (6:00.61). She was also part of the 2nd place 4x 800 relay with Emma Boyd, Bailey Singleton and Ava Hedgepeth.
Younger sister Emrie Scott, a sophomore, finished fourth in the 3200 in 15:15.62

The 4×800 relay team of Jacob Taylor, Pedro Chavez-Pullman, Lamar King and Keyshawn Rouse will represent the Southside boys after a fourth place finish in 9:19:35.

Senior I’Kiriyah Minor was second in the triple jump (33-09.5) and freshman Keymora Roberson was third in the 300 hurdles (51.91)

The 4×800 relay of Lelia Jones, Elanor Davis, Savannah Phelps & Emma Smith finished third in 12:16.04, while the 4x 400 relay team of Indiah Moore, Jaden Johnson, Tamia McNeal & Tamya Smith was fourth in 4:56.15
