Washington home destroyed by fire, family displaced

A Beaufort County family is without a home after a devastating fire on Monday May, 27.
Shortly after 9 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a fire at 302 Beech Lane in Washington, according to Beaufort County Communications Director, Brandon Tester.
Two adults and one child were at the home when the fire was reported. No one was injured. The family was displaced by the fire; the American Red Cross is assisting them, Tester shared.
The cause of the fire is classified as undetermined.
The following fire departments responded to the call; Clark’s Neck, Washington, Old Ford, and Chocowinity. Beaufort County Emergency Management also responded to the fire.
