Rita Marie Barbara Galland-Corley, age 92, a resident of Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenville, NC.

A graveside service was held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Greenleaf Memorial Park, Lakeside Chapel, with Rev. John Cooper officiating. Entombment followed the service.

The family received friends on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.

Rita was born on January 9, 1932, in Hudson County, NJ to the late Frank Innocent Balzaretti and Johanna Gigante Balzaretti. She was a medical assistant. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Thomas Galland, Jr. and her husband, Richard Thomas Galland, Sr.

Survivors include, son, Paul Galland (Nina) of Chocowinity, daughters, Carol Phillips of Blounts Creek and Claire Ireland of Blounts Creek, grandchildren, Timothy Phillips, Michael Paul Galland, Paul Galland, Jr., Jonathan Galland and Andrew Prativa, great grandchildren, Lacey Phillips, Luna Phillips, Michael Paul Galland, Jr. and Andy Harmon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Log-A-Load for Kids, 625 Lindell Court Suite A, Greenville, NC 27858.
