Two Southside soccer players earned spots on the 1A/2A Coastal Plains all-conference team. Senior Lilly Davis earned the honor for the third straight year, while junior Kimberly Perez Lugo was a first-time selection.

The Seahawks finished the year 12-8-3 overall and 4-4 in conference play, which was good enough for a third-place finish and them to place third in the conference and earn a state playoff spot. The team was a 13 seed and won their first-round playoff matchup against Oxford Prep in penalty kicks before falling to Hobbton in the second round.

The all-conference players included the following: Davis, a senior captain, led the team in scoring with 13 goals and 14 assists, Davis became the all-time leading female scorer at Southside with 48 goals. Head coach Jay Petty said, “she was the heart of the team.”

Perez Lugo, a junior midfielder, finished the season with three goals and three assists. “She helped control the midfield and pace of the game all season, especially during conference play,” coach Petty said. “She was crucial for setting the tone in every game.”
