Mrs. Lala Baugham Cayton Williamson, 91, of Aurora, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in her home on June 13th, 2024. Raised by her dear grandmother, Mrs. Elvra Cayton, Mrs. Lala was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Lala was known for her positive attitude, radiant smile, and always seeing the best in everyone. Somehow, she always had a supportive quote for every situation. Mrs. Lala loved the Lord, and she was a devoted member of Aurora United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She held Wednesday Morning Bible Study in her home every week for nearly thirty years. She was also an avid Duke basketball fan, and she and her husband, Buck, greatly enjoyed following the team and traveled to many parts of the country to watch them play.

Mrs. Lala was devoted to her family. She and Mr. Buck were married nearly 59 years and enjoyed a long, happy marriage. She deeply loved her son, Glenn, and she extended that love to his family. One of Mrs. Lala’s greatest joys was spending time with her two granddaughters, Macy and Avery. She loved playing with them when they were toddlers and stayed close to them as they grew, keeping up with them through college, and then eagerly hearing about their careers and wedding plans.

Because of her positive attitude and uplifting spirit, Mrs. Lala was adored by her friends and community. When someone was in need, she was always there to help and offer comfort. Countless people who had the privilege of tasting her baking specialties will smile and remember her well-known bread, rolls, and brownies.

While Mrs. Lala joins some of her family and friends in heaven, she is survived by her husband, Charles (Buck) Williamson, her son Glenn Thomas Williamson and wife Jill Benson Williamson, her granddaughters Macy Elizabeth Williamson and fiancé Joseph Matthew Gorga, and Avery Williamson Denton and husband James Michael Denton. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Robbins and husband Ray Robbins, and Pam Joseph and husband Jim Joseph, and many loved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aurora United Methodist Church and Hospice of Pamlico County.

To celebrate Mrs. Lala’s beautiful, dedicated life in joining with our Lord, a graveside service for family and friends will be officiated by Mr. Johnny Yount and will be provided by Paul Funeral Home at Warren Memorial Cemetery in Blount’s Creek, N.C. at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 22nd.
