Rocky Mount based Ripe for Revival, in partnership with State Farm Agent Mauri Evans, is back in Washington today to help tackle food insecurity in the community. The pay-what-you-can Ripe for Revival Mobile Market is rolling into Washington for its weekly visit stocked with fresh produce, proteins, dairy, eggs, and other food products the community might need.
- What: Ripe for Revival Mobile Market
- When: June 26 – 2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
- Where: 524 N. Market Street, Washington
Ripe for Revival works directly with farmers to bridge the gap between farm excess and food access and is bringing their retail market on wheels to provide fresh produce, eggs, meat and dairy items. At Mobile Market check-out, shoppers are given a suggested total and the cashier will ask them to pay only what they are comfortable paying. For some shoppers, it may be all of their total, some, none or more (paying-it-forward). This allows shoppers to provide their families with nutritious, healthy food in a dignified manner.
