Captain Charles “Chuck” Edward Eaton, age 86, a resident of Washington, NC died Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday July 22, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Matt Carr. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday July 21, 2024 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

Chuck was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 9, 1937 to the late Earl Edward Eaton and Mabel Connett Eaton. He was a Marine then a Captain with Washington Fire Department for over 29 years until his retirement. Chuck enjoyed building things with wood in his free time. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include his son, Ricky Edward Eaton of Chocowinity, two stepchildren, Donald Ambrose, Matthew Ambrose, seven grandchildren, Jami Bricker, Jaramy Burrus, Roxann Ambrose, Travis Ambrose, Noah Ambrose, Diego Ambrose, Tracy Ambrose, one great grandchild, Agnes Anderson, and one sister Judy Eaton Hall of Indiana.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Fay Eaton, and his second wife Elizabeth Sharon Eaton, two brothers, David Eugene Eaton, Donald Wayne Eaton, and a sister, Janice Eaton Utterback.
