From Belhaven-Pantego Rotary Club
The Belhaven Pantego Rotary Club held be their 2024 Scholarship Awards Banquet at Spoon River Artworks & Market on June 13, 2024 to recognize the 13 scholarship winners. In addition to the Rotary members and the Scholarship winners, family members of the scholarship winners attended.
Rotary President Erroll Parker presided at the meeting. After and outstanding dinner catered by Spoon River, Rotarian Bridget Jefferson recognized the scholarship winners.
Those recognized to receive the Jimmy Hodges Memorial Scholarship from the Belhaven-Pantego Rotary Foundation were: Brandon Warren Arthur, a graduate of Northside High School, who plans to attend Barton College; Reese Blackman, a graduate of Pungo Christian Academy, who plans to attend East Carolina University; James Wilson Cleary III, a graduate of Northside High School, who plans to attend Campbell University; Lily Diana Jefferson, a graduate of Terra Ceia Christian School, who plans to attend East Carolina University; Griffin Johnson, a graduate of Northside High School, who plans to attend Randolph-Macon College; Melanie Rutledge, a graduate of Pungo Christian Academy, who plans to attend East Carolina University; Brandon Charles Tooley, a graduate Pungo Christian Academy, who plans to attend NC State University; William Andrew Van Staalduinen, a graduate of Pungo Christian Academy, who plans to attend NC State University; Augustus “Gus” Vansant, a graduate of Northside High School, who plans to attend UNC at Chapel Hill.
Those recognized to receive the Amy Pigott Memorial Scholarship from the Belhaven Pantego Rotary Foundation were: Brayden Cutler, a graduate of Terra Ceia Christian School, who plans to attend Beaufort County Community College; Austin Wilson Garrish, a graduate of Pungo Christian Academy, who plans to attend Beaufort County Community College; Gabriella Augusta Jordan, a graduate of Northside High School, who plans to attend Beaufort County Community College; Shiloh Smith, a graduate of Northside High School, who plans to attend Pitt Community College.
The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self,” and the Belhaven Pantego Rotary Club extends its best wishes to each of the scholarship winners for great success as they pursue their life’s goals.
