BCCC announces ambassadors for 2024-2025

WASHINGTON, N.C.— The Beaufort County Community College Foundation chose eleven students to represent Beaufort County Community College as ambassadors for the 2024-2025 academic year. This year’s team of ambassadors includes seven Beaufort County Early College High School students, one Washington Montessori Public Charter High School student, an aspiring teacher, a criminal justice student, and a nursing student. Ambassadors represent the diversity of aspirations, backgrounds, and interests of the BCCC student body through speaking engagements, marketing and recruitment. They are nominated and selected by a committee to represent the college.
Jubilee Albanese, 17, is a Washington resident and a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School student working toward an Associate in Arts. She works at Washington Café and practices jiu-jitsu. She plans to own a café on Main Street.
Lily Avery, 16, is a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School student working toward an Associate in Arts. She is the daughter of Amanda and Christopher Avery. She plans on attending East Carolina University to major in dance, and she dances with Dance Works.
Tre Barrett Little is a Washington resident and a criminal justice technology student. He attended North Pitt High School and plans to obtain his master’s degree at a North Carolina university.
Heidy Beltran Mendoza, 17, is a Washington resident and a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School student. She is the daughter of Olivia Mendoza and Ernesto Beltran and works with Pamlico Animal Hospital as a vet technician. She plans to attend NC State University and is a part of the Honors Society.
Ben Brewer, 17, is a Washington resident who attends Washington Montessori Public Charter School. He is the son of Amy and Jeff Brewer. He currently works at Backwater Jacks, and he is one of two WMPCS Chief Marshalls.
Jakhi Bryant, 17, is a Washington resident and a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School student working toward an Associate in Arts.
Sahsha Gibbs, 19, is a Chocowinity resident who plans to earn an Associate in Arts. Gibbs attended Southside High School. She is the daughter of Lakisha and Clarence Gibbs. She currently works at Whistle Express and plans to major in education at East Carolina University.
Tanith Huggins, 17, is a Chocowinity resident and a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School student working toward an Associate in Arts.
Eddie King, 17, is a Chocowinity resident and a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School working toward an Associate in Arts. He is an East Carolina Council Scout camp counselor and plans to become a high school or college English professor.
Nick Peele, 33, is a Bath resident who attended Northside High School. He is the husband of Hannah Peele, a father of two, and the son of Thomas and Suzy Peele. He plans to work in nursing.
Javen Styons, 17, is a Pinetown resident and a dual-enrolled Beaufort County Early College High School student working toward an Associate in Arts. He is the son of Priscilla and Michael Styons. He works at Roanoke Christian Service Camp. Styons is involved with National Honors Society and Athen’s Chapel Church of Christ.
